This Is What It Looks Like Inside a Summer Dinner Party Hosted by Padma Lakshmi (Spoiler: It's Epic)
Move over, Pinterest.
Padma Lakshmi gives good dinner party — this should not come as a shock. But her latest soiree, as documented on Instagram, had us totally captivated and planning to replicate it as soon as possible. That is, as soon as master the recipe for "Indian shrimp and grits." (Oh, and befriend the some famous folks.)
On July 10, the Bravo's Top Chef host celebrated the season with a dinner on her lush terrace. Moving between her kitchen and her outdoor space — which was decorated with dreamy pops of pink and red — Padma broke down what she was serving.
On the menu: shrimp and tomato curry, served over polenta, which Padma referred to as "Indian shrimp and grits." The expert foodie also whipped up a spicy watermelon salad (get the recipe here!), chaapati, and plenty of romantic candlelight.
Oh, and no big deal, but the artist Kehinde Wiley — of official Obama presidential portrait fame — was among the guests in attendance.
