Top Chef Judges Rate the Unicorn Food Trend

Padma Lakshmi was the guest of honor at the James Beard Foundation's Chefs and Champagne event on July 28. But before the Bravo's Top Chef judge took to the stage to say a few words, she did what any self-respecting foodie would do: She sampled fare from the dozens of chefs that were on hand to cook up inventive bites. And along the way, she ran into a couple of familiar faces.

How to Watch

Watch Top Chef on Bravo and next day on Peacock.

Adrienne Cheatham, whom Padma referred to on social media as a "dear Top Chef alum," was warmly greeted the show's host. She also served Padma a bright-red dish that looked delicious, and was certainly a feast for the eyes. Behold: red velvet macarons with foie gras mousse and aged balsamic.

Padma also ran into Gregory Gourdet, who whipped up an equally beautiful dish for her to bite into. Grilled albacore with lemongrass, galangal, chile, and lime, anyone?

During her onstage remarks, Padma gave a shout-out to all the chefs who were present — and snuck in a special salute to the Bravo's Top Chef alum. It looks like a delicious mini-reunion was had by all.
