It’s not exactly what she wished for, but Stassi Schroeder got a white Thanksgiving this year while visiting her mom and family for the holiday. With fiancé Beau Clark in tow, the Vanderpump Rules author took advantage of the powder, heading outside for some sledding, snowball fights, and — to burn off those turkey day calories — some helpful shoveling, too.

But things got real when the power went out. Luckily, their group kept their cool, hanging out by the fire, eating myriad snacks laid out by Stassi’s mom, Dayna Schroeder, and even playing Monopoly by candlelight. “So, the power has been out for an hour and 27 minutes and the family is turning on each other,” Stassi joked in a video shared to her Instagram. “Because there’s no TV, there’s no Instagram, there’s nothing we can do!”

The true marvel of the evening, however, was that Dayna was able to somehow whip up an entire meal for many in the dark… without power! “It looks like we’re having Thanksgiving really back in the day when Thanksgiving happened for the first time, with candles and s--t,” she said.

Once the group sat down at their cozy, candlelit table, Stassi made sure to praise the matriarch of the family. “All, right can we all give a shout out to our mom who made an entire Thanksgiving dinner in the dark? In the dark. Without any ovens or anything,” she said. “Mom, this is incredible! It’s incredible!”
