At last, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright are engaged! And if you think we're psyched, just imagine how the SURvers' families are feeling. First off, Brittany and Jax's sister Jenny are so close, Jenny invited the Kentucky native to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. And then there's Brittany's mom, who's been waiting for Jax to get down on bended knee ever since he teased that a proposal was coming back in the first episode of Jax and Brittany Take Kentucky. 

Well, it's a reality now: The two are officially headed down the aisle, and Brittany has the show-stopping sparkler to prove it. The 3.14 karat ring by Kyle Chandler is every bit as dazzling as Brittany deserves it to be. But, has Jax had this exact style in mind since he first decided that he wanted to marry Brittany? After all, Jax did show Brittany's mom the ring he had in mind back when he told her he wanted to propose in the first place. And that ring, you may recall, looked like this: 

Yep, that's right. Our memory is long. But, take another look at the ring that Jax ultimately used to propose to his girlfriend of three years: 

While the two certainly have similarities, it looks like Jax took some time to tweak the original design he had in mind. In the final design, the cushion-cut diamond is lined with a ring of smaller white diamonds; from what we can tell, the design that Jax showed off back in Kentucky had a larger center stone, and no band of diamonds along its edge. 

The couple's relationship has grown richer and more developed year after year, and it seems like Jax took the time to thoughtfully add final touches to Brittany's ring as he fell deeper in love with her. We're so glad that the couple's love story just took this sparkling turn, and we can't wait to see Brittany as a beautiful bride!
