The modern farmhouse architecture trend is spiking in California, and Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright have jumped right on it. After purchasing a $1.9 million farmhouse-style manse shortly before their wedding last summer, the Vanderpump Rules couple now reside in the stunning 3,800-square-foot house, which has five bedrooms and an outdoor cabana and bathroom flanking the backyard’s pool. While the home was brand new and utterly turnkey, that hasn’t stopped Jax and Brittany from making some enhancements.
First up: Jax widened the driveway — “after my princess took out a sprinkler head, I won the battle on widening the driveway,” he shared on Instagram Stories. Then the couple completely redid the pool house, adding a picturesque swinging daybed. Next up: Jax’s mission to remodel his “man cave,” aka the garage.
Now comes news that Jax and Brittany have added a multifunction element to their master suite — a sliding barn door to the closet! Installed by Barn Doors & More, Inc., the pretty slate gray door had metal apparatus on top, adding a rustic vibe to the couple’s serene space. “We love our door so much, don’t forget had a mirror on the back!!” Jax commented on the company’s post about the door on its Instagram account.
What’s to love about the sliding door? Well, for one, there’s the aesthetics: It's practically a piece of wall art. Second, it’s a major space saver. Sliding doors don’t need floor space for a swinging door’s clearance, meaning you can outfit that space with furniture instead, which is exactly what Jax and Brittany did by placing a pretty side table adjacent to the door.
Looks great, guys!
