We Just Got a Major Update on the Future of Tom Tom
After being closed for more than a year, Lisa Vanderpump's restaurant bar with Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval is finally "opening soon."
After temporarily closing in March 2020 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Tom Tom is almost ready to reopen its doors.
"Tom Tom is opening soon!" read a recent Instagram post from Lisa Vanderpump, Tom Sandoval, and Tom Schwartz's bar and restaurant. While the post noted the team is "putting the finishing touches" on the space, Lisa added in a comment, "We are trying lol."
When Tom Tom closed last year, an Instagram post from the business explained, "These are scary times right now, but nothing is more important than the health and safety of our employees and guests." At the same time, Lisa's other restaurants including SUR, Villa Blanca, and PUMP also shut down. While SUR reopened in February 2021, and PUMP did the same the following month, Lisa shared in July 2020 that Villa Blanca was “closing up our doors for good.”
In a March 2021 interview with Bravo Insider, Tom Schwartz opened up about making changes to Tom Tom ahead of its reopening. "We want to have a little alfresco dining out front near the sidewalk and we’re gonna build out something," he said. "We have the back patio, which is exposed to fresh air, so we have some limited seating in there, but we want to have that front patio ready to rock."
"I’m excited to see the bar and restaurant industry come back with a vengeance," he added. "I’m really excited to get that back up and running. I miss Tom Tom. I can’t wait to be back at the restaurants, at SUR, PUMP, Tom Tom, all of our neighbors [such as] The Abbey, Mother Lode, Rocco's. I miss embracing my fellow man and woman and sharing a half shot."
