Kevin reveals that he never told him they were filming a special because Chris is a truly reserved introvert, so the only way Kevin could get him to open up was to make things seem like they were genuine and in the moment. Once Kevin got a cut that he was happy with, he showed it to Chris and he was blown away by the project.
