Katie, however, recently assured Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen that the sandwich shop will "for sure" open its doors this year. And when they do, as Katie put it on the Vanderpump Rules After Show , Ann "must" be a part of the operation.

Ann Maddox has officially gone from being Tom Sandoval's assistant to now working for his ex, Ariana Madix, in a new role at Something About Her.

Ariana and the sandwich shop's co-owner Katie Maloney had previously expressed interest in hiring Ann to "help out" as they prepare for Something About Her's grand opening, and by Vanderpump Rules Season 11, Episode 14 — which aired April 30 — Ann had officially begun working for the duo.

Why did Ariana and Katie hire Ann?

Lisa Vanderpump joked that Ariana "stole" Ann from Tom Sandoval, but she insisted that wasn't the case, explaining, "I feel like it's a good fit being a female-centric business."

Ariana elaborated on her reasoning for hiring Ann on the VPR After Show, too.

"Something [Ann] had said she wanted in a job before was to be someone who contributed creatively and somebody who had upward mobility — things like that — and that's definitely something that we have," Ariana said. "She also said she really wanted to work with women."

Katie, for her part, went on to praise everything Ann's already accomplished.

"I already think she's a great addition," she said. "Just her presence and enthusiasm and everything."
