Tom Sandoval's Assistant Ann Tells All on Her Job and Clarifies 3 Major Things: "The Truth Is..."

Ann Maddox spilled on what it's like to work for Tom Sandoval, why she eventually turned to Ariana Madix for a job, and more in an exclusive chat with The Daily Dish.

Tom Sandoval introduced Vanderpump Rules fans to his assistant, Ann Maddox, at the beginning of Season 11. Since then, Ann's found herself in several interesting situations involving both Tom and his ex, Ariana Madix, who currently doubles as his roommate in their shared Valley Village house.

Today, there's some confusion about what Ann's job consisted of, whether or not she still works for Tom, and so much more. Ann, however, is ready to clear everything up — and that's exactly what she did when speaking to The Daily Dish.

Does Ann Maddox still work for Tom Sandoval?

Discussing her job status as of April 1, Ann told The Daily Dish that she's "currently at a temp job," but this summer, she plans to start work at her "new" job.

"I am very excited about it," Ann said of the role. "I can't quite share with you what that is yet, but keep watching the show to find out!"

Why Ann Maddox Continued to Work for Tom Sandoval After the Vanderpump Rules Season 10 Drama

According to Ann, she's often asked why she didn't just quit in the wake of Vanderpump Rules' explosive 10th season. The answer, it turns out, is a practical one.

"Is it that weird to want to find a new job before leaving your old job? I thought this was normal. I’ve been told in the state of California, you can't collect unemployment if you quit your job. Los Angeles is pretty expensive," Ann told The Daily Dish. "Plus, the entertainment industry is still pretty fragile after two major union strikes and the blow of the pandemic. I don't have parents to lean on like a lot of people do. My dad passed away and I have an estranged relationship with my mother who lives in Japan. I don't have a backup plan. If I don't pay rent I can't just 'go home.'"

What's more, Ann did "love" her job "at times."

Ultimately, though, she found Tom and Ariana's house to be "a stressful work environment." That's why — to set the record straight — she was seeking out other employment opportunities before interviewing with Ariana (as shown on Vanderpump Rules Season 11, Episode 10). The chance to work with her was just too good to pass up at the end of the day.

What *Really* Happened with Ariana Madix's Dog Mya, According to Tom Sandoval's Assistant Ann Madox

Addressing the Mya incident that Ariana and Tom clashed over on Vanderpump Rules, Ann shared that she was at their house when the repairman (who Tom mentioned on the Vanderpump Rules After Show) went into Ariana's room "to check the vents and the thermostat."

"While they were working, Tom had me run a couple errands. I do not know who shut the door while Mya was in there," Ann told The Daily Dish. "All I know is that when I got home I heard whimpering from behind the door and let Mya out."

With that in mind, Ann said she was "bummed" that Tom implied she might've left the door open.

Regardless, though, "that also wasn't really the issue" that led to Mya finding and eating what would eventually have to be surgically removed from her stomach for an apparent cost of $6,000.

"It was that someone shut her in the room leaving her stuck for a couple hours," Ann added. "Either way, I'm glad we caught it in time, and that she's happy, healthy, and good as new."

Continuing to set the record straight, Ann addressed another point of contention: her Taylor Swift tickets.

Did Tom Sandoval buy his assistant Ann Maddox Taylor Swift tickets?

In a way, yes. Ann explained to The Daily Dish that while she was the one to spend hours "battling Ticketmaster," and ultimately score tickets for both her and a friend, Tom ultimately reimbursed her the cost of the tickets as a birthday present.

"Because it was my birthday, and he knew how much I love Taylor Swift, Tom Venmo'd me for the cost of the tickets as a present," Ann said. "So yes, he did buy me the tickets after I bought me the tickets. A very nice gift!"

Who is Ann Maddox?

Prior to becoming Sandoval's assistant, Ann worked a slew of part-time jobs including babysitting, dog-sitting, organizing people's homes, and of course, personal assisting. When she wasn't busy with those roles, she was going out on auditions.

As Ann told The Daily Dish, "I decided to quit working full-time when I started booking small sitcom roles and TV commercials because I wanted to audition more. My last job before Tom was working as a server at the Greek theater. But when the pandemic hit, all concert venues shut down so I really needed work."

This, of course, led Ann to her role with Sandoval.

How did Ann Maddox start working for Tom Sandoval?

Ann got the role because of a connection with none other than Ariana. More specifically, Ann told The Daily Dish, "A mutual friend of Ariana and I recommended me to be Tom's person, and I got the job!"
