You may have heard tell of Necker Island, Richard Branson's private island in the British Virgin Islands. It comprises 74 blissful acres on the Caribbean, surrounded by coral reefs and white sandy beaches. Generally, it's booked exclusively for as many as 34 guests sharing 17 bedrooms. But here's your chance to get there with your honey — if you can pony up $115,000 as a couple.
The occasion is the fifth annual Necker Cup Pro-Am, slated for November 14th through November 19th. The six-day tennis event — which has been very appropriately called “The World’s Most Exclusive Tennis Pro-Am” — would not just make for a pretty remarkable vacation for tennis fans, but one they could feel good about too: It's a fundraiser, raking in $3 million for global causes.
Past pros at the Necker Cup have included such big names as Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Boris Becker, and Martina Navratilova.
But there's also major action happening off the tennis court: The island offers paddle boarding, sailboat races, kite boarding — that's Sir Richard's own favorite — wake boarding, snorkeling, and spa treatments.
Best of all? The week wraps up with the infamous “End of the World” party where everyone joins Sir Richard himself for an intimate charity gala dinner with an auction and Robin Thicke concert.
But really — they had us at "private island."
