It’s Finally Happening! Now You Can Fly to Cuba From the U.S. (And For Just $99)

The time is now to see the buzzy destination for yourself.

Kim, Khloe, Kanye, and the crew are all taking to Cuba on this weekend’s upcoming Keeping Up With the Kardashians episode. Chanel also took its wanderlust-inspiring fashion show there, and the country saw the historic return of a U.S. cruise ship, among countless other recent developments. So there can be no question that Cuba is the buzziest island in the world for American tourists right now.

But so far, getting there hasn't been quite as easy as a few clicks online. Coming up soon — very soon — that's changing. And you’ll finally have your moment to get there easily and effortlessly… not to mention totally affordably.

Jet Blue has just announced that it will launch flights to Cuba on August 31 — yes, just about a month from now. Fares start at just $99 each way, and importantly are also aimed at removing the complexity of traveling to the nation. For instance, the rate also includes Cuban government-required health insurance, and the site allows you to click around easily to sign the necessary affidavit required for travel.

The airline will initially operate flights on three routes between Fort Lauderdale and three airports in Cuba. Those don't include Havana for now, but the airline was also tentatively awarded flights between that city and three U.S. cities for a total of up to seven daily roundtrips between the countries. Jet Blue expects to announce a start date and fares for Havana later this year, pending that final government approval.
