20 Under $200: Beautiful Bridesmaid Dresses They'll Actually Want to Wear Again

This just in: The era of ugly bridesmaid dresses is over!

The first time I was a bridesmaid, way back in 2009, we all met the bride at a salon and got measured to fit into the bridesmaid dress she had already picked out in advance. The girls who weren’t local had to call in their measurements, and we all had to make sure we purchased our dresses from the same dye lot—because, ya know, God forbid our dresses were two slightly different shades. (For all my fellow 'maids out there, I'm sure this story sounds familiar.)

Now fast forward to 2016, and my friend sent an email to all her bridesmaids that said: “Just buy a pink dress from anywhere.” Clearly, a lot has changed in the past few years when it comes to shopping for a bridesmaid look. What used to be a formal, streamlined process can now be a free for all (depending on the bride, of course). Plus, there are more options than ever to buy our bridesmaids dresses online, from specialty boutiques to indie shops to mass retailers. Anyone who's ever been in a wedding party knows that brides for all of time have always told their 'maids, “The best part is that you can totally wear it again!”? But suddently, that actually might be true.

To get brides and 'maids alike inspired, we've found 20 fun, totally pretty options for bridesmaid dresses that you can buy online. Beacause every wedding is different, there’s a range here with options fitting for backyard fiestas and beach shindigs or formal affairs. Our roundup includes dresses specifically made for bridesmaids from stores like Nordstrom, and options from your usual shopping suspects including J.Crew, Banana Republic and Anthropologie that can double as bridesmaid dresses. Luckily, so many of this summer’s trends—like off-the-shoulder sleeves, ruffles and eyelet lace—translate well to wedding day apparel. All these looks are solid colors, though. (No patterns here, because our dear, sweet brides tend to like that for the sake of pictures!)

Another thing these dresses have in common? They’re all under $200, so you can save your cash for what really matters—the bachelorette party.
