Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt took their divorce battle private after the initial explosion, and had been privately negotiating custody terms for their six children. Meanwhile the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services was still investigating Brad’s alleged encounter with the couple’s oldest son, Maddox.
During all this, Brad had lawyered up big time, and on Friday filed his response to Angie’s divorce petition. Wanting to avoid a nasty legal battle, Brad tried to talk privately, but talks broke down. Now Brad is asking for joint custody of their six children and he’s prepared to fight hard for equal time.
“Angelina is ready and willing to fight Brad in court over the custody of their children and ‘until he gets his s**t together’ she only wants him to have monitored visitation ... sources connected to Angelina [say],” reports the site. “Brad filed legal docs Friday, asking for custody of the couple’s six children. Angelina has drawn a line in the sand, asking for primary physical custody, with Brad getting visitation ... our sources tell us she wants the visits monitored.
“Angelina's wish list is basically what she and Brad agreed to temporarily while the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services investigates a confrontation between Brad and Maddox. As we reported, DCFS is looking more broadly at interactions in the family.”
There are reportedly “substance abuse and anger issues that must be addressed.”
