If you're a Gilmore Girls superfan, and even if you're not, you've probably heard about Netflix's upcoming revival of the show. What better way to prep for the monumental event than with a batch of your own customized Gilmore Girls ice cream?
Ample Hills Creamery, based in Brooklyn and nationally known for its small-batch artisanal ice cream, is challenging the show's fans to a contest: Create an ice cream flavor inspired in some way by the show, and win prizes.
The contest, posted on Ample Hills' Instagram, couldn't be more straightforward: Just comment on the post with your flavor idea and give it a name. Rory Rum Raisin? Logan Lemon? The options are endless, and the best part is, you won't need an ice cream machine or a lab or even a freezer. Just a brilliant idea.
So far, fans have submitted suggestions ranging from Rory's Study Break (coffee ice cream, cookie dough, gummy worms or popcorn) to Stars Mallow (mallomar pieces, vanilla ice cream infused with coffee and chocolate fudge shell). But the suggestions are coming fast and furious, so you'd better get on it.
The contest ends on October 31, and the winner gets a free pint of the ice cream they helped to make a reality, plus a cup of coffee. Ample Hills also claims the winner will score an invitation to Friday night dinner, but no word yet on whether that's real or just an inside joke.
