Perhaps you've heard about an understated little musical known as Hamilton? Well, after Lin-Manuel Miranda's show slayed on Broadway and made quick work of the Tony awards, it's gearing up to hit the road for Chicago, where it is set for a long-term engagement starting this fall. Never mind that it doesn't start for several months: The ticket-booking website and phone lines already crashed under the pressure as soon as tickets went on sale yesterday — and tickets promptly sold out.
But all is not lost, theater-going wannabes! The new Conrad Chicago hotel, slated to open in August, has stepped up to offer a Hamilton package that actually includes show tickets.
There are no strings attached — save for the package's $3,050 cost. It includes two tickets for the performance on December 9 — so that's perfect as an early holiday gift for a super fan. As well, you'll get to stay the night in a premium suite, and even scoop up $150 in credit toward food and drinks at Baptiste & Bottle, the on-site restaurant that serves American cuisine and specializes in bourbon and whiskey.
Ticket packages are extremely limited... so delay at your peril.
