Katherine Heigl, 37, has announced she is pregnant!
The actress already has two adopted daughters with her singer husband Josh Kelley, and the couple is now expecting a boy, she revealed.
“The Kelley clan is thrilled to announce that we are expecting a third addition to our family. Naleigh and Adelaide could not be more excited to welcome their new sibling into the fold and Josh and I are overflowing with joy and gratitude. This is an incredibly exciting time for us filled with hope, anticipation, and hormones. Well, only I’m filled with hormones, but everyone in the family gets to enjoy them.
We couldn’t be more excited to be able to finally share this news with our fans and are looking forward to continuing to share the journey with you all. xoxo, Katie and Josh,” she said in a statement.
Their girls Adelaide, 4, and Naleigh, 7, will welcome the baby boy in January 2017.
Katherine's own sister Margaret was adopted from Korea, and the actress has stated publicly she was always interested in adoption. They adopted Naleigh, from South Korea, in 2009.
Adelaide was adopted in 2009.
Katherine told Parent And Child in 2012, that adopting was a deal breaker when it came to getting married to Josh in 2007.
“My sister Meg is Korean, and my parents adopted her three years before I was born,” she said. “I wanted my own family to resemble the one I came from, so I always knew I wanted to adopt from Korea. We have talked about having biological children as well, but we decided to adopt first. I just wanted to be a mom. So however we do that, it’s fine with me.”
The family lives away from the spotlight in Utah, where, Katherine says, her priorities are in order.
“It's been a huge blessing - it gave me perspective. Before them, it was all about my goals as an actor. They helped me to take a step back and go, OK, I have some important work to do on this earth,” she said.
