Mary J. Blige might want to press play on one of her break-up anthems because the singer plans to divorce her husband Kendu Isaacs (who also serves as her manager) after 12 years of marriage. She filed court papers on July 26 and cited irreconcilable differences as a cause for the split, listing the date of separation as "to be determined," according to TMZ. The site further reports that she requested that her soon-to-be ex not receive spousal support.
The couple married in December 2003. They have no chlidren together, though he has three kids from a previous relationship, according to Us Weekly.
Mary filed for divorce from her hubby/manager earlier this week.
Prior to their split, Mary, who credits Kendu for helping her get sober, had fended off rumors their relationship was on the rocks as far back as 2012. Though, at the time, she also admitted that their relationship wasn't always perfect. "My marriage is not on the rocks, but I would be a liar and my fans would hate me if I said to them, ‘Oh, we’re perfect and everything is great,’” she said on The Wendy Williams Show that year. "We have situations just like everyone else. We’re not out in public trying to kill each other, but it’s real. We love each other."
