Orange Is The New Black star Samira Wiley and Writer Lauren Morelli Marry in Palm Springs

The two met on the set of the show, where Lauren says she realized she was gay.

Orange Is The New Black star Samira Wiley, 29, and writer Lauren Morelli, 35, got married over the weekend in Palm Springs, CA., Martha Stewart Weddings reports.

The couple, who met while working on the Netflix show, also got engaged in Palm Springs a year ago.

The wedding was a “colorful, confetti-themed celebration,” with Funfetti cake and non-traditional vows during an outdoor ceremony officiated by Samira's parents. The recession song was Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do It.” At the reception the two walked in dancing to Justin Bieber's “Baby.”

Lauren, a writer on the show, was perviously married to a guy, but in 2012 realized she was gay, penning an essay on Identities Mic about her discovery.

“I realized I was gay in fall 2012, one of my first days on the set,” she wrote. “Accordingly, I was nervous about the first love scene I’d written for Alex and Piper. I loved writing it, loved watching a tenderness emerge in their relationship where passion always seemed to be the ruling principle, but by that time, I was so deep in my own self-doubt that I constantly felt like a fraud.

“Samira became my outlet, and through that process I fell in love with her,” she said. “But I thought, 'this will be the one that got away.' Being with her felt too good to be true.”

The two were dating for two years when Lauren popped the question.
