Carrie Underwood got hitched to hubby Mike Fisher in Georgia in 2010. And the pair started off their marriage with a fabulous honeymoon in Tahiti — not too shabby! Also not a bad way to kick off a life of fabulous holidays together. Let's review their travel-style evolution in the years since "I do."
The pair started off their new life together with crazy work schedules, so for two years following their honeymoon, they didn’t go anywhere except a trip to Canada, which according to Carrie, didn’t count. But it sounded pretty fun to us: Carrie standup paddleboarded while Mike did cannon balls and rode the jet ski back in 2012. (We hate it when we are so famous and busy we can’t vacation properly... are we right?!)
Back then, it didn't take much to make Carrie happy on vacay though. She told People magazine “I really enjoy lying by water. Oh, and dinners. Yes, having nice dinners. I'm not much of a doer when I'm on vacation. I like to relax.”
In July 2012, the couple headed off Disney World with some of Mike’s family and got some snaps with Minnie Mouse and crew at Animal Kingdom.
But it was the following year, in 2013, that they took an epic holiday to Europe for a month. They spent time in Italy, around Tuscany. And they visited Florence and Pisa while there... stopping to pose for fun and classic souvenir shots.
And then check out the gorgeousness that was there experience atop a mountain in Austria, with gleaming lake below.
And then it was 2014: Hawaii! But contrary to many stars who visit the island state, country girl Carrie isn’t the sexy selfie type. Her most popular photo from Italy was when a bird popped on her, so it’s not too surprising she posted a photo of her not so graceful cliff jump from Hawaii! Couples who can laugh together, stay together!
Mike did better, but he’s a pro hockey player so we'd expect as much.
In 2015 Carrie and Mike went on their first post-baby vacation and Carrie was still not about posting snaps of that sexy bod, opting instead for a bikini selfie… snapped from the shoulders up.
Then, as they do, things changed after baby. Carrie told People, "Now it's so important for me to find things that are family friendly. I never really had to think about that until having a child. Before, Mike and I would go wherever we wanted to go, and we never really gave it a second thought. But now, I'm like, 'Well, does this hotel have what we'll need for kids? Is it the right place to take him?'"
She continued, “It’s all planned out more. I'm like, 'Okay, where are we going to go? What are we going to do when we're there? How can we keep him entertained?' It's a lot different. Everything now has to be family friendly.”
On that family-friendly travel note, she recently signed a partnership with cruise line, Carnival and she'll be performing on the cruises next year.
So what's on tap for vacation this year? Well, Mike and Carrie are just back from Cabo!
And there's that bikini bod!
They took more “lame” vacation photos on their six-year anniversary and Carrie and Mike both posted sweet Instagram posts to each other promising a lifetime of love… and surely, great vacations too.
