Shannon Beador's Dog Archie is Sick—So She Did an Extreme Lawn Makeover to Help Him

Get well soon, Archie!

By Kristyn Pomranz

Faithful Unleashed readers know what huge fans we are of Shannon Beador's sweet golden retriever named Archie. Ever since she introduced him into our lives, we have followed his fluffy golden adventures, from co-starring in the family's Christmas card to showing off his fashion sensibilities (USC stands for University of Stylish Canines, people!).

In fact, we love Shannon's doggo so much that we gave him his very own tribute post, where we declared that Archie is even better than nine lemons in a bowl.

So we were very sad to hear that Archie has had a rough 48 hours. According to a post on Shannon's Instagram, "[Archie] was at the vet for most of the day because he was having trouble swallowing and didn't want to eat. Our vet is amazing and ran every test and said he is ok, but we are still worried."

As any pet owner knows, when your dog or cat stops eating, it can be an alarming sign of illness. We are so glad Shannon was able to rush Archie off to the vet for a look over and we were glad to hear that nothing was seriously wrong.

But the next day, Shannon posted an update that Archie had spent another day at the vet: "They think he has been eating too much grass and we have a very thick sawgrass in our yard." And in perfect Shannon fashion, she is not taking any risks when it comes to her dog's health. If grass is the culprit, then the grass must go: "Grass is being changed out tomorrow and praying he has an easier time swallowing from here on out."

The hashtags #bestdogever #ihavebeenawreck#stayuptohearhimbreathe #getwellsoon are all too familiar to anyone who's ever experienced a sick pet. Thankfully, it appears that Archie's illness isn't life-threatening and we hope that Shannon's extreme lawn makeover is all he needs for a speedy recovery!

Get well soon, Archie! We love you!
