No one should be surprised that self-proclaimed Skinnygirl Bethenny Frankel was back to her svelte self less than a month after giving birth to baby Bryn. But was dropping 30 pounds of baby weight in just three weeks healthy or another crash diet in action?
"I didn't go on a crash diet, which is what most people do when they have a baby," the Bethenny Ever After tells RadarOnline. "It doesn't work... they beat themselves up... they start the process all over again... they start eating more, and now they're six months in and they're in a bad place.
"I was just like healthy before, during, and after and I think it's a great message to say to people you don't have to get all wound up about it," Bethenny continues. "You don't have to binge while you're pregnant and you don't have to crash diet when you're not."
Bethenny and her post-baby bod return next week when Bethenny Ever After premieres on Monday.
What do you think? Did Bethenny take a healthy route to her post-baby weight, or is 30 lbs too much for anyone to safely shed in three weeks? Start a Tweet Battle and make your case.
You shouldn't have to defend yourself at all...most people are jealous. If you are in good shape before and you eat right during your pregnancy...there is no reason not to be in same shape.
Bethenny didn't gain much weight to begin with. Most of it was baby and fluid and Bryn was early, so she didn't carry her at the end when she would have gained the most.I think Bethenny is just so active with all of her projects, she doesn't have time to relax and binge. She has to be organized and she's very disciplined in keep her diet healthy and natural. I wish I had her energy to keep up with everything.
I don't understand all the controversy over Bethenny's weight loss. I think alot of people are just jealous they didn't lose their baby weight so easily. I am not as skinny as Bethenny but I have had four babies and with each pregnancy I was back to my prepregnancy weight by three weeks also. I breastfed and ate like you should when you breastfeed and I had no problem losing weight. I think breastfeeding makes a huge difference with how easily you lose weight. Also, when I am pregnant I crave fruit and healthy foods. I don't go crazy eating alot of junk. I think that makes a huge difference too. Bethenny just eats really healthy. Love you Bethenny!!
Remembering Season 1; she did eat when she wanted and what she wanted. I also noticed towards the end of her pregnancy that she was very bloated and thought she should slow down. I think she had a lot of water weight and that goes away very quickly.
Who cares? Ignore those people. I gained less than 20 pounds with my son, who was very healthy and full-term and now the picture of a healthy, active 6 year old. The day after I gave birth, they stood me on the scale and I weighed the same as my pre-pregnancy weight. No one says that you have to gain 60 pounds when pregnant. My friend was skinny, perfect-body before her two and during both, she let herself "go." 6 years after the 2nd one's birth, she's still battling much of that weight.
I will be the first to admit I'm super jealous of Bethannys post baby bod I had my second baby almost exactly a year ago and I still have about 5lbs to go to be back to my pre baby weight. I may be jealous but I also think its awesome I wish my body looked like that and I would be one happy girl. I did eat very healthy through my pregnancy and worked out pretty hard till the day before I gave birth and I still gained 40 pounds. I think our bodies are going to do what they want when we are pregnant I can say that because with my first baby I ate whatever I wanted as much as I wanted and I didn't workout and I gained 40 pounds. You go Bethanny you rock:)
