Love can drive you so batty, sometimes you just want to call it quits. These celeb couples almost did make their split official. But right before it was time to pull the plug, they reconciled and kept their marriages intact. Here are eight celebrity marriages that almost ended, but didn't.
Scottie and Larsa Pippen
We’ve been following the off-again, on-again divorce proceedings of this couple since the papers were filed in 2016. According to a November 2017 report, Scottie Pippen and The Real Housewives of Miami alum, Larsa, have now officially called off the split of their 19-year marriage.
Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones
In 2013 Michael and Catherine were both under considerable stress due to his cancer diagnosis and her challenges with bipolar disorder. And so after 13 years of marriage, the power couple separated, with their reps saying they were going to “take some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage.” Usually that means a couple is going to work out how to split up their assets, but, instead, they were back together with their children (Dylan Michael, now 16, and Carys, 14) by the next year. “People today are so quick to throw in the towel on marriage,” the Oscar-winning actress told the Good Housekeeping in 2016. “You have to give it your best shot and not give up when the first problem arises.”
Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus
In both 2010 and 2013, Billy Ray and Tish didn’t just “split,” but officially filed for divorce. But Billy Ray's achy, breaky heart couldn't give up on Trish; they reconciled each time and after 23 years of marriage and five children, the country music singer and the star of Cyrus vs. Cyrus: Design and Conquer have remained together. After reconciliation number two, Tish has said that couples therapy, which they actually hadn’t tried before, was a great benefit to their topsy-turvy relationship. “We've publicly gone through stuff and made it work,” she said. “And I'm so glad that we did, 'cause our family is so strong and so amazing. I'm blessed.”
Pink and Carey Hart
It has not been a totally smooth ride for the music superstar and motocross racer. In 2003, while they were dating, Pink told Carey to blow her one last kiss, and the couple broke up for about a year, but got back together, eventually getting married in 2006. But they split again in 2008 for almost another year. Thankfully they got back together and now have two children: Willow, 6, and Jameson, born this past December, and a much stronger marriage. “We’re such good friends,” the Grammy winner has said. “We communicate and we work through it.”
Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink
It turns out the prescription for the former Grey’s Anatomy star might have simply been more focused family time with his makeup artist wife and three kids, daughter Talula, 15, and 10-year-old twin sons Sullivan Patrick and Darby. In early 2015, Jillian filed for divorce, which was reportedly fueled by the ex-TV doctor’s preoccupation with the motorsports team that he owns. But in 2016, the divorce was called off. “You have to work at everything,” Patrick told The Evening Standard. “And you cannot do everything. Something has to be sacrificed. I’ve sort of stepped back [from the team]. Time goes by so quickly with my kids that I don’t want to miss that.”
Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green
This May-December couple seemed like the perfect romance. Married in 2010, life moved merrily along as they welcomed two children into the world. Things took a turn for the worst as Megan's career skyrocketed, and Brian's lagged after being injured in a car accident in 2014. Megan filed for divorce in August 2015. While most couples would be signing paperwork and tearing each down on Twitter, Megan and Brian took a different route - and made another baby! Megan called off the divorce in July 2016. They welcomed a son, Journey River Green, on Aug. 4, 2016.
T.I. Harris and Tameka "Tiny" Cottle
The last year had been a strain on the rapper and Xscape star singer. Not only did Tiny file for divorce this past December after seven years of marriage, the breakdown of their union played out on the final season of T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle. T.I.'s alleged infidelities with several women, including Insta-model Bernice Burgos, contributed to their demise, along with Tiny's way-too-close friendship with T.I.'s nemesis Floyd Mayweather. But this couple isn't called the family hustle for nothing. Just this month, T.I. and Tiny announced their reconciliation, with T.I. vowing that he is done with other women's private parts. That's good news for their blended family of seven children.
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne
Can a Hollywood couple last for 30 years? How about 35? That's the case for Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, who just renewed their vows this past spring. Of course, a three- decade-plus union doesn't come without its rough patches. Ozzy tried to end their marriage by strangling Sharon in the early stages of their relationship. There were rumors of the couple divorcing back in 2013 as Ozzy had returned to his drug-fueled ways. The legendary rocker made a public statement that he was 44 days sober, and there was no truth to the divorce rumors. Then, in Spring 2016, both Sharon and Ozzy announced their intentions to divorce due to allegations of infidelity. That lasted two months. By July 2016 they were back together and heading towards 35 years of wedded joy.
