Smart people have a f*%@!*g potty mouth.
It’s intelligent people who are more likely to swear, a new study has found, as it’s simply a part of being smart.
Researchers surveyed 1,000 people and found a very strong link between intelligence and swearing.
Well, f*@k yeah!
And those who named the most swear words in one minute proved to have an even higher IQ.
There were also some very odd behavior attached to being intelligent—the higher the IQ, the more likely to eat spicy breakfasts and walk around the house naked—although we hope to god not at the same time. They also tended to drive fast tell dirty jokes, and drink— a lot. Again, hopefully we’re not mixing these.
The study’s leader Dr Richard Stephens said: “We know from our earlier research that swearing makes people more able to tolerate pain.”
Cursing also provided “natural pain relief,” and resulted in improvements when swearing while working out. Imagine being next to that guy at the gym.
nt improvements in performance compared with uttering ‘neutral’ words.
“We know from our earlier research that swearing makes people more able to tolerate pain,” Dr. Stephens added. “A possible reason for this is that it stimulates the body's sympathetic nervous system - that's the system that makes your heart pound when you are in danger.”
