This week's winner talks onesies, zebra inspiration, personal style, and more!

Dec 17, 2009

Bravotv.com: This week you took a walk on the wild side and got inspired by animals. What did you first think of this challenge?

Is this a dream?!  Animals for a challenge?  Animals are always my inspiration (look at my designs - snakes, eagles, elephants, and giraffes! oh my!)  And to actually spend time with one? A baby zebra?  Come on!!

Bravotv.com: You all had to do a one-piece look. How did you initially feel about that?

I love onesies!!  I have an old school Rykiel onesie (wore it in this episode) and I wish I had 3 of them!  So tattered and still amazing.  One piece canvas -- bangin' necklace, a cocktail ring, and don't forget about an armful of my cuffs -- you are set!

Bravotv.com: Talk about the zebra as your inspiration. Was there an animal you would have preferred?

Zebra! Come on people!  I scored!  When I got that basket of carrots, I was like "please don't give me bugs."  When that baby black and white lover came around the corner, I almost did a backflip in my stilettos.  The mohawk and baby fur.  Insanity.  I was soo blessed!  One of my favorite animals and he was the same age as my son, Quinn (6 months)!

Bravotv.com: You said you didn't take too many risks on this challenge and that you wanted to play it a little safe.

Tentacles on Kimono.  That's all I have to say:)))

Bravotv.com: The judges loved your draping and said your piece was very sleek and current. How did it feel to hear that? Is that the look you're going for?

'Sleek and Current' is what the judges said and I couldn't believe it!  That is exactly what I was going for.  Classic, slight edge...Halston/Rykiel feel...timeless piece.  I would have that piece in my closet for years!  Open back to the crack?!!  It doesn't get better then that.  I almost put my head through the wall when I saw this onesie on the model.  I loved this piece!
