Great Scott! L.A.'s Newest Tourist Attraction Is the Back to the Future DeLorean

You've gotta see this. Doc's orders.

In-the-know travelers are already clued into the fact that Los Angeles is a burgeoning culture mecca. Just months ago, the world-class art museum known as the Broad opened downtown. And around the same time, the famous Petersen Automotive Museum celebrated a grand reopening.

Now that museum is gearing up — so to speak — for a pretty epic exhibit that’s itself worthy of booking a trip to visit L.A. Yes, next month, the Petersen is getting the Back to the Future DeLorean.

The DeLorean DMC-12 time machine — er, we mean car — from the 1985 hit will be on display at the museum beginning April 22, courtesy of Universal Studios Hollywood.

The unveiling will kick off a month-long celebration of both the vehicle and the movie trilogy, which will include panel discussions, and so-called “cruise in” for DeLorean owners (none of whom we personally know, but we figure they all rule).

Best of all, the events will include — wait for it — an ‘80s-themed “Enchantment Under The Sea” dance. We’re so there, McFly.
