There's just not enough avant-garde fashion.

on Jan 14, 2008

Avant-garde represents a pushing of the boundaries of what is accepted as the norm or the status quo, primarily in the cultural realm but more fantastically, the fashion realm. The notion of the existence of the avant-garde is considered by some to be a hallmark of modernism and modern today was Christian's dress. I absolutely loved his vision from head to toe and reminds me much of Alexander McQueen (my all-time favorite designer.)

You don't see much avant-garde fashion in America these days. American ready-to-wear looks drab and dull to me, except for the recent Rodarte phenomenon. So, how refreshing it is to know that this ensemble will be featured in Elle. It's about time. Go Team Chris!
