Kathryn Dennis Went Through a Major Home Purge — See What She’s Ditching
The Southern Charm mom is preparing for a fresh look.
Kathryn Dennis has moved out of the massive five-floor Charleston home that Southern Charm viewers saw her in this season and back into her grandfather's house.
"F--k living in a house that's five stories," she told Home & Design. "Excuse me... Nothing ever made it to the top floor."
She and her two children went back to her grandfather's house for a specific reason.
"It's paid off, so I'm trying to save up to build my first home," she explained. "I'm building it with my business partner [Donna Steele] and her husband."
She revealed that she wants to stay in the general area, though it's "hard to find land."
"I gotta stay close to Charleston," she said, "but I don't want to be in the thick of all that crap, you know? I want a normal life. I had a normal upbringing and I think that was crucial."
Now, it's time to pare down — Kathryn called it a purge and put a bunch of cool items on sale this weekend via her Instagram Stories, including two hand-woven rattan baskets that her grandmother brought back from the Philippines and a CB2 Paloma Brass bar cart.
Among other items for sale: a Ninja blender and a generations-old wooden chair.
She's making fresh room for a new design perspective, and likely giving customers a cool story to tell!
