Austen visited his parents at their Seabrook Island house during the episode, which aired on October 19. As they sat down for a glass of wine in the sleek kitchen, Wendy asked, "Isn't it nice that we're so close?" and Austen agreed, telling his mom, "[I] love it."

Although Austen seems beyond happy with his parents' move now, it was initially very difficult to say goodbye to their former home. "About a year ago, my folks moved from my childhood home in Charlotte, North Carolina," he explained in an episode interview. "It was a very emotional move because we left behind so many memories."

During an episode interview on Season 8, Episode 6, which aired in July 2022, Austen shared why it was so hard to pack up the house. “It’s easy to think about all of the good things that happened in my childhood home. There are definitely some dark times that happened in that house,” he said, referencing the tragic loss of his older sister, Kyle. “But the beautiful thing about this house is that [my younger sister] Katie was born there. It was new life being brought into the home, and it was the first time that our family had really had a time to heal together.”

“Coming home always put me at ease,” he shared. “And the fact that it will no longer be my go-to place is slowly starting to sink in.”

As Austen explained in the October 19 episode, he's happy to have his parents close by, and he told BravoTV.com in July 2022 that he loves seeing how happy his mom is living there.

“The cool thing about the new house...is that my mother loves it so much, and she is so dedicated to making it feel like home home," he said at the time. “Her biggest concern is what me and my sister are gonna think about it and if we’re gonna want to come home for Christmas and want to come home for Thanksgiving, and if we’re gonna think it’s weird. So she’s doing everything in her power to make it feel as ‘home’ as possible.”

“She’s done a wonderful job. So, I love it,” he continued. “If I’m being honest, Charlotte is in the rearview mirror and it has been for quite some time. The new home is pretty awesome. It’s like a 35-minute drive for me."

Austen Kroll's home update

Austen's parents aren't the only ones getting settled in a new home. After Austen bought a new house in 2021, he spent a couple of years completing it. In a May 2023 Instagram Story, he showed his newly furnished guest bedrooms. “Soo once again, I’m almost embarrassed to admit, but I’ve been in my house for almost two years, and my two guest rooms were finally completed by my incredibly talented friend [Rodrigo Reyes]," he wrote.

In the video above, he added, "Now that I have three bedrooms, I spend more money on bedding than I do on hair and face products combined."
