Ally Lewber’s Haunting Cover of The Cranberries' "Linger" Is Truly Impressive

Learn more about the Vanderpump Rules' cast member's musical talents, including her single with James Kennedy.

By Sophie Vilensky

As James Kennedy very well knows, there is so, so much to love about Ally Lewber. When she first joined Vanderpump Rules as a recurring cast member in Season 10, fans were taken with Ally's sweetness and penchant for astrology. But did you know that she can also sing?

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

She has covered several pop songs on her TikTok channel — including The Cranberries' 1993 hit "Linger" —  often while accompanying herself on acoustic guitar. Ally shared the short clip of her singing the Irish band's iconic song while playing piano in response to another user's request that she participate in the February trend of TikTok users singing the second verse and chorus.

"There's going to be music coming out soon," shared Ally during a February 2024 episode of Scheana Shay's Scheananigans podcast.

"This year I started singing again, which has been fun. I always did it as a hobby, but we have a friend who has a studio and he's an amazing guy, so we've been making music together" she added. "It's been so fun. It feels so good. There's no pressure on it. I'm not trying to have this career in singing; I'm very happy with astrology. But it's fun."

Ahead, everything you need to know about Ally's musical proclivities — including the artist that first inspired her to pick up a piano and guitar.

When did Ally Lewber start singing?

Ally opened up about how her passion for singing began during Season 11, Episode 7 of Vanderpump Rules. Her blueprint? Taylor Swift, of course.

"When 'Teardrops On My Guitar' blessed our ears on the radio [in 2006], I decided I wanted to be just like Taylor Swift," she shared in the episode, before a video of her singing and playing guitar in 2012 took over the screen. "But there can only ever be one Taylor, so I decided to become an astrologer instead."

Ally Lewber's Kids' Song with James Kennedy "I Believe In You"

In November 2023, James released a new single that featured Ally called “I Believe in You.” The duo recorded the song with Station Little, an online platform that focuses on educational children’s music.

“We wanted to work with Station Little just because of the great messages towards kids,” James explained in an Instagram Story at the time. “Jordan runs the whole Station with his wife and a couple of other people, and they’ve just been doing amazing things. Lance Bass was actually just featured on the last [song] and I love what they’re doing… all positive stuff.

Ally also talked about the song in a conversation with Us Weekly. “This song is all about following your dreams, which is a message that I’m very passionate about,” she shared. “I’m from Ohio and moved to L.A. with some big dreams, and I know [James] agrees and had some big dreams, as well.”
