Fans are about to find out, because the Below Deck Sailing Yacht crewmates — and several other yachties from Below Deck, Below Deck Mediterranean, and Below Deck Down Under — will appear on the August 3 episode of Project Runway for a very special reason. Get details on the All-Stars season and learn what the yachties are working on with the designers by scrolling below.

All the Below Deck Crew Members Appearing on Project Runway

Colin, Daisy, and Gary, whose love triangle was a dominant talking point on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, are in good company on Project Runway’s upcoming Season 20 Episode 9. For starters, the trio will be joined in the workroom by Below Deck Down Under’s Captain Jason Chambers and chief stew Aesha Scott

Jason isn’t the only captain who will pop up on the episode, though, as Captain Lee Rosbach and Captain Sandy Yawn will also be working with the designers on the show.

Two of Sandy’s fellow Below Deck Mediterranean crew members, Mzi “Zee” Dempers and Courtney Veale, are the final two yachties who will be seen on the episode.

Both Colin and Gary took to Instagram to share their thoughts on their Project Runway experience.

“That one and only time I was a ‘model’ on a [Below Deck] all stars episode of [Project Runway], airing this Thursday on [Bravo],” Colin captioned his post.

In a comment beneath his own post, Gary revealed that he’s down to spend more time in the workroom in the future.

“Let’s do this again,” he wrote in one comment.

Why the Below Deck Yachties Are Popping Up on Project Runway

In a preview of Episode 9, which you can check out at the top of this post, the remaining Project Runway All-Stars designers receive a text from Christian Siriano that instructs them to meet him at the Greenpoint pier.

Once the designers arrive at the dock, a superyacht pulls up.

“Your next challenge is one that all designers have to go through to make it to the finale,” Christian tells the designers. “It’s a Project Runway darling: the real client challenge.”

The Project Runway mentor introduces the designers to the yacht crew members, who then help explain the designers’ next task.

Below Deck yachties and captains filming Project Runway.

“Designers, as you can see, our formal uniforms need a serious update,” Captain Lee begins. “I mean, it’s boring AF.”

“So take the 1800s style and bring it current,” Captain Sandy added.

“Your challenge: Reinvent the formal white epaulet and black epaulet uniform for your Below Deck client,” Christian said.

Captain Lee then explains that the uniforms will have to remain in the black-and-white palette, but they can “go crazy” with the trim. He then pulls out anchors to pair the designers with their yachties.
