The Below Deck Mediterranean captain, who is returning for Season 9 on June 3, wed her fiancée of less than a year, Leah Shafer, on a boat in Fort Lauderdale on May 11.

Sandy confirmed the news herself on her Instagram feed, and in an article with The New York Times

"On May 11th, 2024 I married the love of my life. I had no idea how amazing marriage could be!" Sandy wrote in the caption of her announcement post, which featured a carousel of photos from the special day. "It feels incredible and I feel like the luckiest woman in the world. I love you, Leah Rae Yawn!! Thank you for taking my name! Thank you to our entire family and friends for coming out to show your love and support to our relationship..."

Which Bravolebs attended Captain Sandy Yawn's wedding?

The couple of more than six years exchanged vows in front of friends and family, including Below Deck Med's Aesha Scott, Chef Dave White (who cooked the food for the guests), and Below Deck alum Kate Chastain.

Below Deck Mediterranean showrunner Nadine Rajabi, meanwhile, officiated the ceremony.

The exciting wedding news comes about two-and-a-half weeks after Sandy shared that she and Leah had gotten their marriage license in Florida.

"The minute I looked at Leah and started reading her all the reasons I fell in love with her I started to cry,” Sandy told The New York Times. “It’s so amazing to find this kind of love in your lifetime.”

Captain Sandy Yawn and Leah Shafer's honeymoon details

After the two officially became wife and wife, they wasted no time with taking their honeymoon (which only makes sense as Sandy is gearing up for the Below Deck Med Season 9 premiere!).

The ladies are, unsurprisingly, staying close to Sandy's roots with another boat trip. However, Leah is at the helm this time.

On May 14, Sandy posted a video of Leah in the driver's seat on a boat in the Florida Keys.

"Honeymoon in the keys," she captioned the video.
