What *Really* Made Monique Samuels Want to "Drag" Candiace Dillard Bassett at Katie Rost's Hoedown?

The Real Housewives of Potomac mom has some huge news about where the ladies stand today.

By Laura Rosenfeld

We were fully prepared to name Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard Bassett our new favorite besties as this season of The Real Housewives of Potomac began. But then Monique said she was ready to "drag" Candiace "pregnant and all" at Katie Rost's hoedown, and well, that seemed as though perhaps they weren't quite ready to achieve BFF level status just yet. You can hear more about all the drama at that hoedown in The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 4 After Show, above.

How to Watch

Monique explained how her friendship with Candiace went off the rails so quickly this season of RHOP during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sunday night. "She kept thinking that I was on Ashley [Darby]'s side. And my whole thing was it's not about sides. That's so immature. We're talking about what's right and what's wrong. You're attacking a woman for her drinking because you don't think she's trying to get pregnant and all of the things she was doing. It was like for what? And there was no reason behind it," she said. "So I just wanted to tell her, I said, 'Look at me last year. I was doing things that I shouldn't have [done], and look how it turned out, so don't go down that road.' So it wasn't that I was trying to put myself on a pedestal; I just wanted her to do better and take me for example and move forward and stop being so combative."

How Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard’s Friendship Went Off The Rails

Even though it appeared that these two were back on track after they had a heart-to-heart at Monique's ultrasound appointment, that proved to not be the case as made evident by a recent exchange the ladies had on Twitter. Monique and Candiace had a bit of a back-and-forth earlier this month when they once again disagreed about Monique's comments on how Candiace interacted with Ashley at her dinner party.

Monique said on WWHL that their conversation on Twitter was not a feud but that Candiace was "fighting herself." "I tried not to engage her. She at-ed me, so of course I'm gonna respond," she said. "Yeah, she called me a mannequin. I'm like, 'Girl, go to the children's table and sit down.' Like, seriously."

She also said that she was still hurt that Candiace never reached out to her after it was revealed that she had talked to Gizelle Bryant about the comments Monique made about Katie earlier this season. "But my thing is, as a friend, I expected her to call me at the point that I'm watching her on TV tell Gizelle that I called Katie Amistad, which she told me she didn't say. She never called. I have not talked to her since," Monique shared. "But then she's like picking this war with me on Twitter, and I'm just like, 'I got kids and stuff to worry about. I'm not worried about that.'"

So when Monique and Candiace finally come face-to-face again, Andy Cohen has a feeling how it's all going to go down. "OK, this is gonna be an interesting reunion," he told Monique on WWHL.

"Oh, it's gonna be a really good reunion," Monique said in response. "Sit her right next to me."

We say this reunion can't come soon enough!
