Ariana Madix Has a Message for People Criticizing Her Finale Exit: "Read My Contract"

On the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 finale,  Ariana Madix's decision to leave the group event instead of filming with Tom Sandoval had her castmates buzzing. 

Lala Kent called the move "bullsh-t," Scheana Shay said it was "unfair," and Tom declared, "If you don't want to film with your ex, don't be on the show." However, in the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 After Show video above, Ariana, who left the event after Tom tried to apologize to her, slams the idea that she should be required to film with her ex.

Ariana Madix responds to critics of her Season 11 finale exit 

In the clip, a producer asks Ariana, "What would you say to those who might criticize you for walking away in that moment?" and Ariana responds, "I would encourage that person to read my contract and find at any point in which I'm required to do anything that I don't deem real or that I don't want to do."

"I would also say that goes for every single cast member on this show," she continues. "Everyone has the right to exercise that, and they do all the time."

The Vanderpump Rules cast reacts to Ariana Madix refusing to film with Tom Sandoval

As you can see in the video above, the cast has mixed feelings about Ariana refusing to film with her ex.

"I'm not mad," Katie Maloney said. "They all seemed to be upset about it."

Lala, meanwhile, explains why she was "f-cking offended."

"We're asking you to have one conversation, and you can't do that?" she asks. "Every single person on this show [has] the tough conversations."

Scheana, who filmed an emotional moment with Tom during the group's trip to Lake Tahoe earlier in the season, says she sees both sides of the situation.

"As her friend, I completely understood and respected what she did," she explains."But it's hard, as one of the people who had a lot of those moments this season, i.e. Tahoe and meditation, that was a lot of convincing to get me to go back into that moment with [Tom]. But then I'm like, 'You know what, this is what I'm here to do, and we're all trying to heal and move on, and this is what I'm here for.'"

Although Brock Davies notes, "It's not like it's a surprise. She told us she ain't gonna be filming with him," James Kennedy adds with a laugh, "Part of me wishes she would, you know? Because I love the drama."

Still, Brock explains, "I find it very difficult because ever since I've been in this group, I've been under scrutiny, and I had to be honest about the hardest things I've ever spoken about in my life...So then to have that boundary set by Ariana, I would prefer her to have that conversation or be open to it."

Although Tom Sandoval says he can "sympathize with the fact that she doesn't want to do that, and it's probably too soon, and that's fine," he also notes, "at a certain point, too, in our relationship, we were not being open and honest, and other people were, and I found that unfair."

Ultimately, he says, "I respect the fact that she doesn't want to speak with me, especially how things ended."

Tom Schwartz agrees, saying, "I can't fault her for that. It's an honest reaction and ... a snap decision from the heart." Still, he explains, "There's so many times I wish I could've just walked away... You have to address the situation."
