A “Sad” Scheana Shay Calls One of Ariana Madix's Career Choices “a Punch to the Gut”

Scheana Shay's conflicted feelings about Tom Sandoval are serving to complicate another friendship of hers: unsurprisingly, the one she has with Tom's ex, Ariana Madix.

This becomes clear in a preview for Vanderpump Rules Season 11, Episode 7 (set to air March 12), during which Scheana pays Lisa Vanderpump a visit to discuss the rocky place she and Ariana are in. See what she had to say by scrolling below (and checking out the full sneak peek above!).

Scheana Shay on Her Strained Friendship with Ariana Madix

After greeting Lisa, Scheana dives straight into the drama of the cast's recent trip to Lake Tahoe. More specifically, she tells her about the emotional moment she shared with Tom. 

"Honestly, Lisa, the day after we saw you in Tahoe, that was the most emotionally draining day I've ever had in this group. I cried so much my eyelashes were dry and hurt," Scheana says. "I'm going through stages of grief with Sandoval."

"Grief of what you had?" Lisa asks. Scheana says yes, prompting Lisa to add, "And you feel you can't have him because Ariana's gonna be upset?"

In short, yes. "It's just hard when I try to tell her how I'm feeling when it comes to Sandoval. She literally said, 'I don't wanna hear about it,'" Scheana explains before further elaborating in a confessional interview. "I've done everything I can to be ride or die for Ariana, but is it not enough still? I'm afraid to express how I feel because it's not been about me. It's never been about me; It's only about her. So, I'm struggling with having any conversation with her lately because I feel like I'm not valid in my feelings."

Scheana Shay on Ariana Madix's Many Career Prospects

Scheana also has complicated feelings about Ariana's burgeoning career — namely, her being asked to join Dancing with the Stars. Why? Because as Lisa points out to Scheana, "When I did Dancing with the Stars, you said, 'That's what I want more than anything.'"

In fact, Scheana even started taking dance classes last year. "I was preparing in case I did get it," she admits, ultimately calling Ariana's decision to join the show "kind of a punch to the gut, for sure."

"I am so happy for her, but it's like, I can be happy for her and sad for me at the same time," Scheana adds in a confessional. "And like, good for her. I mean, she has come such a long way from being my backup dancer."
