Shep Rose Reveals Where He Stands with Southern Charm's Austen Kroll and Craig Conover Today

During an appearance on Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright's podcast, When Reality Hits with Jax and BrittanyShep shared that he's taken "a step back" from many of his Southern Charm friendships for the time being.

"I just thought, I'm going to take a step back from certain relationships and give it air,” he said, per PEOPLE. “I don't want to kill them, I’m just not going to water the plant for a little bit. I’m only going to water plants that produce beauty on my end or beauty around me or love.”

When it comes to his friendship with Austen, specifically, Shep noted that he's seeing what happened between Austen and Taylor in a different light these days.

"I feel like he treated the thing with Taylor very cavalierly and callously and... I was not happy," Shep said about what he noticed when he watched the reunion back. "That’s so uncool. Just felt... hurt by a lot of it after the fact.”

However, he only wishes Austen the best as the two move forward. When he sees Austen, he says he will "give him a big hug."

"I’ll support him in everything that he does, but just as far as the day-to-day banter, it is not where it was at all," he continued on the podcast. "And that’s OK. Maybe one day it will be.”

As for Craig, Shep said that the two could not be "more different human beings on every scale, measurable way you could ever think of."

But, he continued, the pair has "a mutual respect [for one another] in that regard," and he said, he's "happy to see [Craig] doing well."

Shep Rose's Life Since Southern Charm Season 9

After the reunion aired, Shep took a trip to Costa Rica to surf, go on a retreat, and spend time doing yoga and meditating.

When he returned to Charleston, Shep continued going to yoga classes, noting that he's "decided to take it up." He's also been spending time with his mom and another Craig, his dog.
