Sutton Stracke Reveals How Her Kids Reacted to Her Divorce
RHOBH's Sutton Stracke also said that it would be "interesting" to date this tech billionaire.
Sutton Stracke is stepping out of her comfort zone on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 — and it involves more than just wearing pants (but not ugly leather ones).
Per her official bio for the season, Sutton has been "determined to reclaim the self-confidence she lost during her marriage," though she needs "a bit of guidance in the romance department."
Viewers have seen Sutton go on a few first dates on the show, and she's been candid about how she's been faring in the romance department since she split from her businessman husband, Christian Stracke, in 2016.
During recent episodes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, Sutton has shared what led to her separation and divorce, as well as how her three kids, Porter, James, and Philip, reacted to the split, and what she's looking for in a potential future boyfriend. Sutton Stracke's Children Weigh in on Her Divorce from Ex-Husband Christian Stracke
On the RHOBH After Show for Season 13, Episode 6, Sutton and her close pal, Garcelle Beauvais, reflected on their respective divorces. (Garcelle split from Mike Nilon in 2011.)
"Well, divorce is not fun," Sutton explained, before sharing how her kids felt about the split. "Christian and I, when we separated and then later got divorced, my children flipped. They all just started crying."
Sutton then revealed the question her daughter asked.
"And Porter said, 'Does this mean you're getting a divorce?' And we didn't know," she continued. "Of course, like, the next day, Christian filed for divorce. So, thanks for that."
The Sutton Concept owner also offered details about what led to the split, and the eventual divorce filing.
Why did Sutton Stracke get divorced from her ex-husband?
"I was the one [who] asked Christian to separate, to get out of the house. Because I thought, 'This is gonna turn into World War III,'" Sutton said about the issues that the then-spouses had been going through at the time. "And so I thought, if he gets out of the house, we can start therapy and do that. I think he was so angry at me [that he filed]."
Though the filing took place shortly after the separation, Sutton said that the exes "didn't tell the children for, like, another year."
Sutton Stracke's Dating Life and What She's Looking for in a Boyfriend
Viewers have watched Sutton navigate her dating life on RHOBH Season 13, as she looks to secure a second date.
After a few one-and-done first dates, Sutton revealed what she would be looking for in a partner.
"It would be interesting to date someone who had a bigger life than me," Sutton admitted on the After Show, before joking that Elon Musk could be a contender.
Garcelle then shared further insight into what the two single ladies are "looking for."
"I think that's what we're both looking for, somebody who has their own life, but yet lets us be who we are and can fit in," Garcelle said, and Sutton agreed that she was "right."
"Look, I know that I'm difficult," Sutton added. "But, I'm fun."
