Erika Jayne's adult son, Tommy, has never appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but this pop star mama isn't shy about how proud she is of the Los Angeles cop.
Erika Jayne's son may be all grown up, but she couldn’t be a prouder mom.
Erika, of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has notoriously kept her son, Tommy, out of the limelight during her Bravo reign in an effort to protect his privacy. But that doesn’t mean the mom of one hasn’t taken every opportunity to gush about her police officer son over the years.
“We are friends. He’s grown. I am [and] will forever be his mother,” she told Bravo Insider in 2022. “And, you know, I still have to cook when he comes over.”
Who is Erika Jayne’s son Tommy?
Erika shares her son, Tommy, with her first husband who coincidentally is also named Tom (not to be confused with her estranged second husband). She was just 19 years old and working as a go-go dancer in New Jersey when she met Tom, a 26-year-old DJ, according to her book, Pretty Mess.
The pair quickly hit it off and moved in together just six months later, officially tying the knot in December 1991. Their son, Tommy, was born months later in June 1992.
“When the doctor put him into my arms, it wasn't like I was meeting a stranger for the first time,” she wrote of his birth. “I felt like we were two souls being reunited after a long break. Like meeting an old friend ... We named him Thomas, after his father.”
The romance between her and Tom came to an end in 1996 and Erika moved to Los Angeles to follow her dreams of stardom.

“I feel like my marriage came apart because of me, not because of anyone else. I can take responsibility,” she wrote in her book. “I knew I was a good mom. I thought I was adult enough to be a wife and a mother, but really I wasn't. Tommy bore the brunt of that.”
Where is Erika Jayne's son, Tommy, now?
Erika’s son, Tommy, now lives in the Los Angeles area and is one of the boys in blue, fighting crime and protecting the city.
“If you ever see me in an alley in Hollywood talking to a cop, know that everything is just fine,” she joked in her book. “There have been quite a few men in my life, but there will never be one more special than him.”
But as most moms would understand, the career choice has also left her feeling a little on edge.
"I'm very proud of my son being in law enforcement, but obviously it can get a little nerve-racking," she told The Daily Dish in 2016. "It's a dangerous profession. I've known my son was going to be in law enforcement from the time he could walk and talk. That's all he's ever wanted and that's kind of your role as a parent is to honor who your children really are."
It wasn’t until the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, that the proud mom finally decided to share a photo of her son on Instagram.
“People say we look alike,” she wrote alongside a snapshot of Tommy in uniform standing on the Los Angeles streets.
Erika later told Andy Cohen on his SirusXM show on May 6 of that year that she made the decision to finally share that part of her life with the world, in part because of “quarantine crazy” but also because she was bursting with pride for her “essential worker son” who was “out there working like every man and woman on the front line.”
Why Hasn’t Erika Jayne’s Son Tommy been on RHOBH?
Although Erika may have been willing to share a photo of Tommy, don’t expect the law enforcement officer to ever make an appearance on RHOBH.
When asked on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in 2019 whether Tommy will ever appear on the show with his famous mama, Erika seemed doubtful.
“Probably not,” she said. “I don’t think so, no. You know, he has a private life; he’s a police officer.”
He may not be ready to make his television debut, but today, Tommy remains a constant source of support in his mother’s life as she’s faced a difficult few years.
“My son’s been amazing. I will say this: The silver lining to all of this sh-t is that our relationship is stronger. My son and I, we’ve really come together. He’ll be 30 in June. Oh, Jesus. I just remember walking around here in New York being pregnant with him. But he’ll be 30. And so asking him what he thinks about things, you know, you get this adult perspective,” she told Bravo Insider in 2022. “And it’s really nice.”
Erika added that she’s also still “pretty tight” with her first husband, Tom, who has also been “very supportive.”
