This Is What Tinsley Mortimer Says Is at the Root of Her Conflict with Dorinda Medley

Tinsley Mortimer and Dorinda Medley started Season 12 of The Real Housewives of New York City. in the same place they left Season 11 — which was going, to quote Dorinda, "Not well, bitch." The two got into it at Dorinda's party, with Tinsley asking Dorinda to stop spreading "conspiracy theories" about her lifestyle and relationship with her now-fiancé, Scott Kluth, and Dorinda complaining that she barely knows anything about Tinsley and can't go deep with her.
So why exactly can't these two make up and get along? When Tinsley was interviewed on The Daily Dish podcast, she shared what she thinks is blocking the progress in their friendship.
'Really my big thing this season with her is I really want to have a one on one sit-down chat," Tinsley explained. "All I’m wanting to do is have some time, the two of us, to talk. That’s all I’m asking for. And it’s just constantly feeling that, you know, she’s not really wanting to do it. And I don’t know why. If she’s so obsessive about it, then why doesn’t she want to just talk to me? One on one?"
Their one-on-one chat at Dorinda's party definitely went south, which Tinsley acknowledged in the episode. "If I'm not talking to her about something, I'm hiding something, and if I try to pull her aside and have a private conversation, now I'm fake. I guess I just can't win."
Of course, a big part of their conflict is that Dorinda didn't believe Tinsley was being honest about her relationship with Scott, with whom she's been on and off over the years before getting engaged in November 2019.
" I don’t know why she was so obsessive on me and Scott," Tinsley lamented about Dorinda. "I’m very honest and open and if you ask me a question I mean I will tell you. But at some level I didn’t trust her as a friend anymore."
