I Love Costco

Heather doesn't think anything is wrong with store-bought deserts, she just has a few problems with her caterer.

Sorry this blog is late. I actually watched the show live last night with all of you! (My screener was mysteriously AWOL.) Anyway...

The algorithm of shooting a reality show is 30 hours of filming for 20 minutes of footage that ends up onscreen . Isn't that crazy?? So imagine how many times I had to hear the words "onion rings" in thirty hours! Ugh! Truthfully, I'm not sure he even wanted the darn things, he just thought it was funny. Then to enlist Vicki??? Not necessary.

I love my husband, but as I said last week, he likes to push my buttons. The truth is, I was extremely annoyed with my caterer. (Who I've been working with for years and I do adore...) Brian specifically told Terry that he was serving steak as well (at my request in case anyone didn't care for lobsters, or if there was any shellfish allergy I wasn't aware of). So I can understand why Terry inquired about the steak. . .My ennui came from him asking over and over and over (which wasn't shown).

Also, the dessert table: Just for the record, I LOVE Costco. We shop there often and I think their products are excellent. Can you imagine though, hiring a caterer and requesting a dessert bar -- only to find out, it was all store bought? I assumed he had made all of the desserts, which is why I made that comment.

There is nothing wrong with a buffet of desserts from Costco (they were actually quite delicious). However, if you are paying a caterer for a homemade spread, it's entirely unacceptable. Infuriating!

When you throw parties, there are always hiccups and issues to be resolved. You learn from them and move on. The difficult part for me was that my husband was pointing out and highlighting every wrong turn. That's why I pinched him.

Juvenile? Yes.

Deserved? Absolutely.

Sadly, some of the most fun moments of the party didn't make it to the screen. I had a "flip book" station -- which was so fun! (You can see pictures at Bravotv.com). Later my kids came in to say goodnight (They made flip books too!) They were so cute and so happy to see everyone.

Many of you inquired about the framed records and paraphernalia on the walls in our rec room. It's all from my brother-in-law, Kevin DuBrow. Terry's late brother was the lead singer of the '80s band Quiet Riot. We are very proud of his accomplishments and thought it would be a cool homage to Kevin. So I reframed a bunch of his awards and pictures and hung them up with a few of his prized guitars.

I hope you all enjoyed the episode. Next week you will meet our newest cast member, Lydia. She's a funny, sweet girl and I'm sure you will all love her.

Until then. . .

Shannon Settles the Score

If Andy's asking "What's the score, Shannon Beador?" Shannon thinks she's definitely won.

This is Blog #20, my last Blog for the season! The past year was been a wild ride for both me and for my family. I have come to many realizations about myself, made lifelong friends, experienced some tough moments, and embarked on a path to a more peaceful self. So to use Andy’s phrase, “What's the score, Shannon Beador?” I would say without a doubt that I have definitely won.

I am happy that the viewers got a little glimpse into my sometimes unconventional ways! For me, it's all about good energy. I love that Vicki’s business has clearly benefited from trying feng shui with Elaine Wright. If you can't get hurt, there is no reason to try anything holistic. If you actually benefit, why wouldn't anyone want to go the natural way? If my children tend to feel better after seeing Dr. Moon and not have to take antibiotics, then I am a happy mom. It's all about creating a healthy balance!

I am an open book and am often criticized for it, but I am who I am. I don't know many couples married for 13 years that have a perfect relationship. Everyone has ups and downs, and although it may be difficult and require effort, it is possible to move through it and make things better. I have said it many times in the season that divorce is not an option. I will always fight for my marriage and my family. It truly touches my heart that so many fans have been and continue to root for David and I. I am so appreciative and grateful for all of your positive comments! Thank you!

Do Tamra and Heather truly want to move forward and potentially develop a friendship with me? Only time will tell. But for now, I have amazing friends surrounding me, including Vicki Gunvalson and Lizzie Rovsek. And most importantly, I have been blessed with the most incredible family anyone could ask for. That is where all of my energy is focused.

I will never forget this entire year, both the good and the bad, because each moment took me on the journey to where I am today. And today, I am in a phenomenal and happy place. Thank you for taking this journey with me!
