All About Heather and Terry Dubrow's Children: Max, Nicholas, Kat, and Ace
Plus, find out who the RHOC cast member's most famous in-law was.
On The Real Housewives of Orange County, Heather Dubrow is known for her love of champagne, Chanel, and all things fancy — however, her deepest love is reserved for something much greater.
"I am most proud of the relationship I have with my kids and the open lines of communication," she shared in a in a 2023 interview with The Wrap. "I would love to tell you how much I’ve taught them and what a wonderful mother I am, the truth is it’s me that’s learned so much. I’ve gotten such an education from these kids. They’ve opened my eyes to so many incredible moments and experiences that I’m the lucky one.”
Heather and husband Terry Dubrow, a plastic surgeon, have four children together: Maximillia, Nicholas, Katarina, and Ace.
"Obviously, we want the best for our kids," she continued. "We want them to be happy and successful, and hopefully more successful than we were. And hopefully not go through the trials and tribulations that we went through."
Heather Dubrow’s Daughter Maximillia Dubrow
Maximillia Beatrix Dubrow, who goes by Max, is Heather and Terry’s eldest daughter and her brother Nick's fraternal twin. The two were born on November 24, 2003
She began attending Tufts University in Boston after her 2022 high school graduation and is already a published author: Her book, I'll Give It to You Straightish: What Your Teen Wants You to Know, came out in 2021.
Max opened up about what it was like growing up on RHOC in September 2023.
"A lot of people ask me if it's annoying to have cameras at your house 24-7, and I kind of have to explain that’s not how it is,” Max told The Daily Dish. "I’m glad we did it … I also think it’s opened up a lot of amazing opportunities for me, which I’m extremely grateful about.”
She came out as bisexual in a Pride Month Instagram post in 2020, and received the public support of both parents.
Heather Dubrow’s Son Nicholas Dubrow
Max's twin, Nicholas Kent Dubrow — who goes by Nick — also graduated from high school in 2022 and began attending his top choice school, Loyola Marymount University, in Los Angeles, that autumn.
In Season 17 (which aired in 2023), Heather and Terry dealt with sending their twins to college. “I can’t believe that Max and Nicky are off to college,” Heather shared in a confessional interview. “They don’t know how to do laundry, but it’s OK. These dorms today have laundry service. Isn’t that bougie?”
Nick spent the summer before his sophomore year working with Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles real estate broker Josh Altman. Nick told The Daily Dish, “Currently, I’m in an internship with the Altman Brothers because, as of recently, I just got my real estate license. So I’m kind of exploring that field.”
Heather Dubrow’s Daughter Katarina Dubrow
Katarina Alexandra Dubrow was born on October 5, 2006 and is still in high school. When she was 14, she came out to her family and then bravely spoke about her coming-out experience in RHOC Season 16, which you can see in the clip above. She announced her coming-out publicly before the episode aired.
Kat spent a month in the summer of 2023 in Evanston, Illinois, where she was enrolled in Northwestern University’s National High School Institute. The highly competitive summer program guides students through studies in debate, theater arts, playwriting, film, and video.
Heather Dubrow's Son Ace Dubrow
Ace was born on December 13, 2010, and was just nine months old when Heather began filming Season 7 of RHOC (which aired in early 2012). The family was on the show for four seasons and then took a hiatus, returning for Season 16 in 2021.
In March 2023, Heather shared that her Ace is transgender. “It’s International Sons Day! We love you, our youngest son, Ace,” Heather wrote in the caption of her post, which featured a photo of the word “Ace” drawn in the sand on a beach.
“Our job as parents is to give our kids a safe and supportive environment so they can grow up as healthy, happy, confident, independent humans. Since Ace is a 12-year-old child, with a long life ahead of him — we will let him tell his own story someday if he chooses to do so… All we can say is Ace, we love you so much and we are proud to be your parents,” Heather added. “Your brother and sisters love and support you too.”
In July that year, Terry opened up about his and Heather’s decision to tell a part of Ace’s story. “We hope that the message that we put out with our family helps those who are struggling in families that aren’t so supportive,” Terry told E! News, “and particularly in parts of the country where there’s a lot of pushback on living a person’s real life.”
Heather Dubrow’s Husband, Terry Dubrow
Heather met her future husband Terry on a blind date in 1996, according to a 2023 Instagram post by Heather. In June 1999 — less than three years after their first date — Heather and Terry tied the knot.
In Season 7 of RHOC, Heather opened up about her and Terry’s dynamic as a longtime couple and as parents. “We do discuss major issues together. We definitely work as a team,” she said. “But let’s face it: I’m in charge of the children. I’m in charge of the home. I’m basically in charge of the thrusts of our life together.”
Over the years, Heather has struggled with Terry’s dedication to his work and has expressed a desire for him to be home with his family more.
Besides appearing as Heather’s husband on RHOC, Terry is a reality star and a producer in his own right. He’s most known for appearing on and producing E!’s Botched (2014-2023) with Dr. Paul Nassif. He also served as an executive producer on License to Kill (2019-2020), according to his IMDb page.
Heather and Terry also published a book together, called Dr. and Mrs. Guinea Pig Present the Only Guide You'll Need to the Best Anti-Aging Treatments, in 2016.
Who was Terry Dubrow’s older brother Kevin Dubrow?
Terry is the brother of Quiet Riot lead singer Kevin Dubrow. The band is probably best known for their 1983 cover of the song "Cum On Feel the Noize," from their album Mental Health. Theirs was the first metal album to ever reach top spot on the Billboard Top 200.
“I will never forget the day I came home from med school at UCLA and there was a message from my mom [saying], 'Your brother’s album is No. 1,'” Terry told the publication in 2014. “No. 2 was Thriller and No. 3 was Lionel Richie. It was huge.”
Kevin died of an overdose in 2007, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
