We Googled Katie Rost's Break-Up Blogs So You Don't Have To
Plus - find out what Katie Rost has to say about the blogs now and get the deets on her current relationship with Russell.
In classic Housewives vacation form, #RHOP tensions rose on the way up to Bethany Beach as Katie Rost’s famous exes became the car’s chosen topic of conversation. Gizelle Bryant took this as an opportunity to ask Katie about her break up with Def Jam co-founder Russell Simmons - and that’s when this drive up got pretty rocky.
Katie clarified that Russell started dating a new girl while she was still living with him - and that she was demoted to the guest room. As Katie explained, “I flipped out on him, then I went off on her, and then I wrote a few blogs about it.” Well, leave it to Gizelle to ask, "Are they Google-able?" - our new favorite adjective.
The articles are so Google-able, in fact, that Gizelle found one on her phone and read it aloud. In the clip above, Gizelle recites some of the blog, including this line: "I had passed out listening to a Deepak Chopra's self-help lecture with a mud mask on" which is officially our new favorite way to pass out. But what else did the blog say?
Well, we took a page from Gizelle, and Ashley Darby for that matter, and did some Googling of our own. And indeed, you can find her blog originally on Global Grind here in which she doesn’t hold back on her feelings on the matter:
“I’m not a petty, competitive woman! (Yes I am) but I'm totally ok with the fact that my time with Russell was beautiful but brief. I am genuinely happy that our friendship has formed in the wake. I'm also happy that he has found someone else whose company he enjoys. No, no, no people, I’m not going to hate on Julie Henderson! She’s extremely cute for a White girl. (I’m more partial to the ethnic look, but to each their own.)”
Well, Katie did say she flipped out...but not only is that blog available, but we put our Googling skills to work and found another piece also originally published on Global Grind that Katie wrote in response to the new girfriend's own blog on the matter. Our ball and gala girl gets pretty philosophical explaining why she's not a hater in a blog entitled "You White, Stringy Haired B*tch.":
"If I make broad and ridiculous statements about entire groups of people, if I criticize someone for aspects that are not fully encompassing our respectful to there true self, which is a divine being, a child of God, a vessel of love and light….. Perhaps I’m just being a human being. Perhaps I’m being funny? Perhaps I’m having an ability to be honest about the realities we live in, how I process them and what my reaction is. At the end of all of that, so what? Sometimes a White Stringy Haired b*tch is a White Stringy Haired b*tch."
Looking back now, how does Katie feel about her choice to put her feelings (and Russ's girlfriend) on blast? Well, the former model is sticking by her words, "I own everything I do. I am who I am. I have a right to be happy and sad and everything in between. That's what life is. I'm not acting or out to protect my ego. Enough said." When asked if she had any remorse about the public break-up from Russell, Katie clarified that she has made peace with her ex, "I love everything about Russell Simmons and Kimora and how he handles himself as a friend, a mentor, a businessman, and a civil rights advocate. I feel blessed to have him on speed dial. Don't regret a thing." Since Katie still has Russ on speed dial, it sounds like the two have made up - probably minus the kissing.
