Now You Don't Have to Fly to Guzzle the Strongest Coffee in the World: It's Coming to the U.S.

Be still your racing heart.

If you're a person who loves coffee enough that you'd travel all over the world to source the perfect cup — well, you're a person after our own hearts. But good news for people who associate the strongest coffee with the best coffee: The most potent stuff in the whole world no longer requires a trip abroad.

The South Africa-based coffee company Black Insomnia Coffee, which bills itself as the strongest stuff on earth, has just launched on Amazon — so it's available to Americans who can order it from the bleary-eyed comfort of their caffeine-fiending fingertips.

First launched in Cape Town in July last year, Black Insomnia is naturally pure and very high in caffeine without added chemicals, preservatives, sugars, or other additives. Lab test results have found that this amounts to a pulse-jumping 17,524 milligrams of caffeine per kilogram. According to a press release, that makes the coffee 33 percent stronger than competitor — with a similarly ominous name — Deathwish Coffee.

To put it all in terms better understood to regular coffee drinkers, the stuff has more than 700 milligrams per 12-ounce cup, which is four times stronger than the average cup, according to Food & Wine.

Now go get your buzz on — and watch yourself when operating heavy machinery.
