Bob's Burgers, the two-time Emmy-winning animated series about the Belcher family and their burger joint, has had a cultlike following for years. The show has spawned something of a media empire, with a coloring book, an album, and even a collection of Real Recipes for Joke Burgers, with which home cooks can try their hand making dishes like the Sympathy for the Deviled Egg Burger or the Every Breath You Tikka Masala Burger.
And now, fans have another major Bob's development to get excited about: There is a Bob's Burgers movie coming up for their big-screen viewing pleasure!
But the news doesn't exactly offer the instant gratification of fast food, at least not right now: Deadline reports that a release date has been set for 2020.
“We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who’ve never seen the show," show creator Loren Bouchard told the trade publication. "We also know it has to fill every inch of the screen with the colors and the sounds and the ever so slightly greasy texture of the world of Bob’s — but most of all it has to take our characters on an epic adventure. In other words, it has to be the best movie ever made. But no pressure, right?!”
