A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, as the saying goes. But a sprinkle of salt helps make a Turkish chef into the mighty internet sensation who became known as as #SaltBae — as you may recall (or may not, and would be forgiven) from this unforgettable video that went viral back in January.
According to Eater Miami, so-called Salt Bae Nusret Gökçe is currently hiring staff in order to open the 11th location of his seven-year-old family-style Turkish steakhouse Nusr-et in Miami next month. He has locations in Dubai and Turkey, and has previously announced plans to also open in New York, but Miami will be his first restaurant to debut in America.
And now it looks like he's got another city in his sights as well.
He was in Hollywood recently hanging out with Diddy (who cast him in a Ciroc Vodka commercial) — and maybe location scouting?
#SaltLife at Nusr-et is about more than a good sprinkle — it's about some serious knife acrobatics.
International locations of Nusr-et feature menus with several cuts of steak, burgers, and lamb. And yes — you're gonna want salt with that.
