Neeenahgarceeya sits down with Andy Cohen.

on Aug 2, 2006

When Nina Garcia called my cellphone yesterday afternoon as I was sweltering down Wilshire Blvd, I did what any self respecting blogger would do -- nearly killed myself swerving to the side of the road to throw some questions her way about Project Hoo-Hoo!

HEY NINA! EVEN THOUGH HEIDI ALWAYS INTROS MICHAEL AS THE KING OF JET-SET FASHION, HAVING SEEN YOU IN ST. TROPEZ, I AM GONNA SAY THAT YOU ARE THE QUEEN OF JET-SET FASHION!
Oh yeah, right -- strapped to this office while I could be in Sardinia right now! I had the best time in St. Tropez, didn't you?

YES! DO PEOPLE NOW RECOGNIZE YOU IN EUROPE BECAUSE OF THE SHOW?
Everywhere, Andy! I flew from Rome to NYC and there was a 15-year-old sitting next to me with 5,000 questions! Would not leave me alone! People stop me in Columbia, South America! It's crazy. And hotels -- everywhere.

YOU KNOW THAT HEIDI HAS TURNED YOUR NAME INTO A ONE WORD THING LIKE MADONNA....WHEN SHE INTROS YOU IT'S ALWAYS "NEEENAHGARCEEYA!".
I love it! I am gonna change my name to Neeenahgarceeya! It sounds much more glamorous.

EVERYONE IS SPECULATING ABOUT WHO IS GETTING KICKED OFF THE SHOW TONIGHT, BUT I CAN'T EVEN ASK YOU ABOUT IT. YOU ARE ON THE TODAY SHOW WITH TIM TOMORROW THOUGH, RIGHT? WHAT TIME?
I think around 9!

OK NINA -- WE'RE THREE EPISODES IN.... WHICH DESIGNERS STUCK OUT AT YOU FROM THE START?
I was quite impressed with Laura just because of her sense of style. From the start even with that challenge she expressed a clear point of view -- cocktail, glamorous. She's detail-oriented and her execution and package are great. And Keith absolutely, because that first challenge I thought what he did was fantastic -- simple and beautiful. I like simple and beautiful. It doesn't have to be ornate to be extraordinary. Simple and extraordinary is the best combination.

PEOPLE WERE SO PISSED THAT MALAN GOT DINKED INSTEAD OF ANGELA IN EPISODE 2. YOU GUYS DID NOT LIKE HIS BROWN DRESS HUH?
Listen, the worst thing was that it was unflattering on the model! It was a bad choice of color and looked horrible on the model - forget what it would've done to Miss USA! When I heard the life story I was sympathetic, but the work speaks for itself. Designers don't show at Fashion Week and tell us their life story -- we're there for the work. That dress was ugly. And it was badly made. The seams on the side and the bustier? It was not good and it was for Miss USA who was a doll and did not want a prominent bust! No.

WHAT DID YOU LOVE ABOUT BRADLEY'S OUTFIT LAST WEEK?
Volume is something that is hapening right now in fashion -- today, right now. Designers are working with volume. That design is the new proportion. The play on volume just felt very now. I know he whipped it up at the last minute but the judges don't see that. It felt new and that he was in tune with fashion.

WHAT QUESTION DO FASHION PEOPLE MOST ASK YOU ABOUT THE SHOW?
They don't have questions -- they have opinions and they want to tell me. That's what's so fantastic -- it's what we want from the show, right? "How is Santino?" -- that is probably the most asked question I get when they get around to asking! They also ask about Daniel Vosovic.

WHAT DID YOU THINK OF "DEVIL WEARS PRADA"?
I liked it. I really liked it. I thought it was a sincere portrayal of this industry. It's work and sometimes people get carried away with egos. You need to put in the hours and your boyfriend doesn't get it and you're not curing cancer and that's reality. You need to love it or else you will find going through the craziness ridiculous. You have to be tenaciously in love with it to survive it. It's long hours and leaving behind friends and family. I related to that life. It's going to Paris and not seeing Paris. I go four times a year but I don't really see Paris. You're at all the fabulous parties, but you're working.

WHO DID YOU IDENTIFY WITH IN THAT FILM?
I am not answering! I identified with all of them -- from Andy to the boss. I've been Andy. I was an assistant and an intern and all that. When she says, "Where is that paper I had in my hand two days ago?" -- I do that all the time.

I AM TRYING TO POLITELY ASK IF YOU ARE MIRANDA, DARLING!
(Laughs.) Well I do have two assistants but I think they like me!

I'M SURE THEY LOOOOVE THEM SOME NEEEENAHGARSEEYA! HOPE TO SEE YOU SOMEWHERE FAB SOON!
Me too! Talk to you soon!
