What A Night!
Andy's nursing a funover after a wild (and crowded) Watch What Happens Live.
Last night was so great that I have a funover. That's a hangover from too much fun. And too much Makers Mark.
I started at the incredible Green Auction at Christies where some incredible art was on the block. I could neither stay for the actual action, nor could I actually afford the art. The event was so beautiful and it was fun just seeing the art. From there I went to Lincoln Center to present two awards with Cynthia Rowley at the National Magazine Awards, a powwow of essentially every magazine publisher, editor and bigwig.
We were in the greenroom with Brooke Shields waiting to go up there and Cynthia was making me nervous as all hell. The nerves were compounded when we got onstage and I saw that the Vogue team - that would be Wintour/Coddington/Talley - were seated directly in front of us. In other words we had the Mount Rushmore of Fashion at our toes. In the second category, for best Photography in a magazine, Wintour was a nominee and I stood there wondering whether it would be correct to kiss her if/when she won, or whether that would in fact be the end of me. The trophy went to Vanity Fair and I gladly shook Graydon Carter's hand.
Watch What Happens Live last night was a total blast. Bethenny is simply incapable of saying anything but the first thing that comes into her mind, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson is a hilarious gingey doll. And imagine my surprise when five minutes before air Mark Consuelos showed up with Neal Patrick Harris? Both of them were tweeting like crazy during the show, and their laughter added a lot to the night. The Bravo Clubhouse is fun, but really small, so our audience of nine people (a record) actually sounded like more of a full house than maybe it was. I loved their cameos, and it was a great coincidence that I'd planned on giving my Mazel to Kelly Ripa's tushy; how great of Mark to accept the Mazel on her behalf.
After the show we headed to the Boom Boom Room. Remember how we saw Mr. Lionel Ritchie last week? This week Ms. Mary J Blige was there. I dig Mary J.
We'll be posting the hilarious after-show we taped later today. Have a great weekend!!!
