Kate Upton Could Not Look Any Hotter On The Cover Of 'Sports Illustrated'
It's always swimsuit season for Kate.
Just when we were unwrapping a leftover Valentine's Day chocolate, Kate Upton reminded us: it's never too early to start working on that summer body.
The blond, beautiful creature appears on the cover of Sports Illustrated's new swimsuit issue. And—we hope this isn't too much of a spoiler—the photos are smokin'.
The 24-year-old stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to offer a sneak peek of her cover. Well, covers: Kate actually shot three. In one photo, she's wearing belly chains and bangles; another look involves white bikini bottoms and an elaborately beaded, snakeskin jacket. (Very Liberace at the beach.) Then, there's a white macrame number that's kind of more string than bathing suit. But, you know, it works.
The theme of the buzzy Winter 2017 issue is diversity. And models—who also include Christie Brinkley and Simone Biles—represent a range of ages and body types.
“To have an issue that focuses on that is really an amazing moment for me, because I think it’s important for everyone to be the best they can be, but not to strive to be a company or industry’s idea of perfect,” Kate said.
MJ Day, the editor of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, even wore a bikini herself to announce the theme on social media—and she admitted it wasn't easy.
"Funny how I have spent my life on a beach since childhood and I have never truly felt comfortable in a swimsuit," MJ wrote. "Even at my thinnest. We need to love ourselves in the present. No matter what. I invite you all to do so."
Indeed, inclusivity-in-modeling is having a moment, with other advocates like Vogue and Christian Siriano making its case. So, maybe that chocolate's a go, after all?
