Kate Upton is The Latest Celebrity to Chop Off Her Locks
The lob is holding onto its title as the reigning hairstyle of 2016.
We're calling it now: 2016 will go down in hair history as the year of the lob. Let's take a moment to reflect on all the celebrity locks that were lost this year: Selena Gomez, Kaley Cuoco, America Ferrera, Taylor Swift, and even Kim Kardashian all left precious strands on the cutting-room floor. (So to speak.) And now, Kate Upton has gone under the shears.
The (engaged!) model shared a photo of herself with newly shorn locks. "Fresh chop," said the caption, which was penned by Kate's stylist Bryce Scarlett. Bryce, btw, is the unofficial master of short hair. He's also has also given fresh, edgy styles to stars like Emma Stone...
and Chelsea Handler.
So, which way will the style pendulum swing in 2017? "The lob made cutting hair this year so much fun," said Michelle Frost, assistant director at George the Salon. "There were so many variations of the lob we were able to design differently. As far as 2017, I think the style ran its course. We will be seeing a lot of cuts that will lay right under the chin and cuts that will be under the collar bone and layered. The angled lob was a great look, but I do believe that women are wanting the length to be the same all along the perimeter. Everything is looking more even, verses longer in the front and shorter in the back." We won't have too long a wait before we can see what 2017 brings! (Sorry, couldn't help it.)
