Everyone's Favorite Waco, TX Designer Has A New Pillow & Rug Line & It's Awesome

Because we can't all drive down to Waco to have a consult with Joanna Gaines, this will have to suffice. For now.

When you watch HGTV’s Fixer Upper, it’s hard not to want to jump inside the television. I chastise myself for never scouring antique stores like the show’s star Joanna Gaines. I wonder why I’m not wearing more black eyeliner like her, because even though it’s daytime and she’s at a construction site, she looks totally normal and gorgeous. I want to live at the farm with her, her husband Chip and their four kids. And most of all, I want her good taste. From built-in breakfast nooks and bunk beds to flower boxes and shiplap, shiplap, shiplap—I dream of inhabiting her mind and wearing her design aesthetic like a warm sweater.

Alas, that’s not possible. But you know what is? Being able to access some Gaines-designed products to spruce up your home—without traveling all the way down to the Silos in the Waco, Texas, that is. Gaines’ new line of rugs and pillow is now available online at Pier 1, and will be in stores by mid-April. A mix of creams, greys and blushes, the line of 40 products is quintessential Joanna—Read: Super relaxed, but interesting thanks to cool patterns and textures.

So while we can’t all ditch our current lives and move south to buy a fixer upper, we can bring a little bit of our favorite HGTV design show into our own homes, which is a pretty good compromise if you ask me. Oh yeah, and we can all start wearing more black eyeliner, too.
