The Fashion at the Black Panther Premiere Was Out of This World
Stars like Lupita Nyong'o, Issa Rae, and Angela Bassett shut. it. down.
The opening of Black Panther was a hotly anticipated affair. It was so hot, in fact, that the movie's star, Lupita Nyong'o herself, joked about having a hard time scoring tickets to a screening of the flick. Luckily, Nyong'o was able to score an invite to the January 29 film premiere (phew!), which took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
And of course — this being Nyong'o — the star didn't merely show up at the premiere. Nope. She had to go ahead and slay the red carpet with a stunning violet gown that adhered to the evening's "royal attire" dress code. (Side note: can we put that into effect at our Super Bowl party, please?)
Nyong'o had plenty of queenly company, too. Stars such as Issa Rae, Angela Bassett, Janelle Monae, and Yara Shahihi also wore looks that could rule an empire, and we're this close to bowing down.
